CELL hosts Indiana’s first Early College Summit
The Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning (CELL) at the University of Indianapolis recently hosted the state’s first Early College Summit, with over 400 partners in attendance.
The Inaugural Indiana Early College Summit was dedicated to sharing strategies to help more students pursue, succeed in, and benefit from postsecondary education with partners from every level of Indiana’s education system, including K-12, higher education and state agencies. The summit was focused specifically on student equity and first-generation college students.
During the Summit, attendees participated in breakout sessions, which explored modern challenges for Hoosier students, heard from a keynote panel featuring Early College graduates, and gained insight from keynote speaker, Brandon Fleming, renowned speaker, nationally acclaimed educator, and author of MISEDUCATED: A Memoir.
“This year’s Indiana Early College Summit was a resounding success, and a step forward in addressing the student-pipeline issues with higher education,” said Carey Dahncke, Executive Director of CELL. “I’d like to sincerely thank all our sponsors and state partners who came together to make this summit so successful.”
